Hey Sandra, I am really enjoying the Omnivore's Dilemma, though this is the 2nd time I've tried to read it (the first time I read the first chapter, enjoyed it, but it didn't grab me enough to keep me from straying to other books).
However, I would sort of warn against it if you don't want to read a lot about meat/food production and get sort of bummed out about everything you eat. I spent a good half of a day moping about the inevitable doom of the planet after finishing the sections on industrial corn production. I've only gotten through the first part of the book (about 2/3's), and am only starting the actual chapters specifically on the "dilemma" the title refers to.
